Treatment locations
Consultation and treatment under the care of the Upper Gastrointestinal Multidisciplinary can be done as a public or private patient. A Gastrointestinal Multidisciplinary Clinic is held every Thursday afternoon at the Northern Sydney Cancer Centre, Royal North Shore Hospital where newly diagnosed oesophageal and stomach cancer patients attend to consult with specialists and arrange treatment. Chemotherapy can be arranged to be given as an inpatient at either Royal North Shore Hospital or North Shore Private Hospital and as an outpatient at either Royal North Shore Hospital or one of the two Northern Cancer Institute sites at St Leonards or Frenchs Forest. Radiotherapy treatment is provided at Royal North Shore Hospital. Surgery is performed at either Royal North Shore Hospital or North Shore Private.
